# Proposed MeerK40t config changes (NOT applied)

Nothing in `~/.config/MeerK40t/MeerK40t.cfg` has been edited. Current active Balor section (read 2026-10-31):

```
corfile_enabled = True
lens_size = 131.5mm
corfile = /home/hank/laser/meerk40t/jcz110.cor
flip_x = False
flip_y = True
swap_xy = True
rotate = 0
```

## Sheet 1
No change. Burn S1 on exactly the settings above. That is the baseline the analysis assumes.

## After sheet 1 (before sheet 2): values come from `results/sheet1_REPORT.txt`

| Setting | From | To |
|---|---|---|
| Width (lens_size) | 131.5mm | the `-> MeerK40t Lens Size: 131.5 -> X mm` value (synthetic test gave ~133.5) |
| corfile | /home/hank/laser/meerk40t/jcz110.cor | /home/hank/laser/projects_shared/calibration_meerk40t/results/sheet1_corrected_L<X>.cor |
| corfile_enabled | True | True |
| flip_x / flip_y / swap_xy / rotate | F / T / T / 0 | unchanged, **unless** the report says MIRRORED/ROTATED. Then use its `recommended flags` line. |

## How to apply safely

1. Back up first (laptop terminal):
   ```bash
   cp ~/.config/MeerK40t/MeerK40t.cfg ~/.config/MeerK40t/MeerK40t.cfg.bak-$(date +%F-%H%M)
   ```
2. Make the changes **in the running GUI** (Device settings for the Balor device), not by editing the file. MeerK40t rewrites the cfg when it exits, so hand edits made while it runs are lost.
   - General → Correction File → File: choose the new .cor (Enable stays ticked).
   - General → Width: **type the new lens size again**. Choosing a .cor resets it to 125.002.
   - Parameters → Axis corrections: only if the report asks.
3. Re-open the device settings and confirm Width shows the new value.
4. Never overwrite `/home/hank/laser/meerk40t/jcz110.cor`. The new tables live in `results/` under new names.

Roll back: select `/home/hank/laser/meerk40t/jcz110.cor` again and type Width 131.5, or quit MeerK40t and restore the `.bak-` copy.

## After sheet 2
Same procedure with `results/sheet2_corrected_L<Y>.cor` and its lens. Check the gamma line first:
- **≈1:** normal.
- **<0:** use the sign-flipped table that the script wrote.
- **≈0:** stop. The table was not applied or is transposed.

If sheet 2 is already ≤ 0.1 mm worst point, sheet 3 can verify the sheet-2 settings unchanged instead.
